The Nature Protection Trust of Seychelles was the first conservation NGO to be established in Seychelles in 1992. Since then the NPTS has carried out conservation and research work on a wide range of islands and species, inlcuding the Seychelles giant tortoises, terrapins, Seychelles kestrel, insects and plants. The NPTS publishes two regular publiscations: 'Birdwatch' - a quarterly magazine on natural history and 'Phelsuma' - an annual scientific journal on the biology and conservation of the western Indian Ocean region.
